Basement

Problem: This basement hallway has become a temporary storage area, but cardboard moving boxes do not allow content visibility. Stacking makes access to each box a chore. More boxes are stacked in the room beyond, leaving no floor space to retrieve shelved items. Linens have been temporarily stacked in a guest room closet, while other unboxed items still need a home.

Solution: Cardboard boxes are replaced with plastic bins and contents labeled. Three 24” deep white melamine shelves are installed on the 8-foot wall, allowing vertical placement of bins which adds to storage space. Two cabinets are installed on the opposite wall – one for linens, the other for seasonal china and pewter serving dishes. Three more 24” deep shelves are installed – wall to wall – in the remaining 7’ long alcove. Boxes are removed from the room beyond and neatly stacked on the shelves and floor.
