Pantry

Problem: Pantries like this are all too common.  We call them “black hole pantries.”  The two-foot deep shelving is completely impractical.  Before long, one forgets what is stored in the back and starts purchasing unintentional duplicates – wasting food, time, and money.

Solution: Create a walk-in pantry.  The existing shelving is replaced with 12” deep shelving that spans all four walls and ends with rounded corners.  Contents are sorted into categories and placed on the shelf together.  Small items or loosely packaged foods are sorted “like with like,” containerized and shelved.  Turntables are used to consolidate and display small items like spices.pantry-23
